UB: Well I can’t speak for New York, but the dance music crowd here in the Northwest of England is a fairly easygoing one - as long as you pick the right places of course.

To hugely generalise, I suppose that people who like rock music tend not to be overkeen on dance music and vice versa. I am very fond of house music and once had the thrill of seeing Todd Terry DJ and play his own Put Your Hands Together, but de gustibus non est disputandum.

I’ve told my daughters that I don’t want them reading this, and they don’t. Their IP address doesn’t show up in the logs.

Hate to reduce them all to a stereotype but here I go, anyway. House music does not draw the peaceable set. It’s more the young, unsettled types who have some kind of chip on their shoulder or unfocused anger mixed with horrible taste in music.
