Wendy’s daughter is in the middle of it, and gets a lot of propaganda about Wendy’s supposed bad behaviour – her drinking mainly – as well as being used as a way of manipulating Wendy into these “family days out” which are designed to inveighle himself back into Wendy’s affections, and house. If the new regime continues, he’ll have to give up eventally and accept tha they’ve split up, finally.

kono – I’m sceptical about the L-word too. It’s a delirium, a folie. The sooner I get out of this the better. It’s so difficult when we are so close as friends. And she’s so lovely.

Glad you’re enjoying Knausgård – I read a review of it quoted on Wikipedia which saif “Even when I was bored, I found it compelling.” I want to read the long Guardian interview he did a while go in which Knausgård expresses his regrets about the harm the book’s caused thouse mentioned in it.

And re swearing in books – “motherfucker” is to Miles Davis as “cunt” is to Irvine Welsh.

On book 4 of Knausgaard and i do enjoy it, (though i haven’t started book 4) been reading Vonnegut and Miles Davis’ autobiography which i believe may hold the world record for use of the word “motherfucker", easily Miles favorite word, good stuff as usual mon ami.

I still feel awful for Wendy’s daughter. For what her home life must be like. I don’t suppose that sets well with you because you are a de facto part of her home life but that’s how I feel.
