Hello, I'm guest blogging. I'm Chris, but obviously that's not my real name. Ha ha.
It's my daughter's 6th birthday today (just) and I have to be up in - ooh - 6 and a bit hours to make it to her party, but I just had to come out with Looby tonight because we are friends and he is awesome.
I spent 6 hours today making my daughter's Lego Movie themed cake, and then I thought, "Well, do you know what? I really can't be arsed spending another night alone indoors, so I'll give Looby a ring and see what he's up to."
Well, he didn't answer, so I decided to go to the gym, but then he DID ring me back just before I was due to leave the house and he said he was going to his friend Neville's birthday party and that several friends of his would be there. Well, I know Looby pretty well and I knew that his friends would be fun to hang around with, so I told him I'd hurry on round after the gym, and he told me to head straight to Kirsty's place and that I could meet two of his three daughters. I thought this was great; I've spent ten years teaching Mathematics to teenagers and I love hanging around with teenagers! Yes, I'm weird. I don't think that was ever in question.
Anyway, I caned it at the gym (250 calories in 25 minutes; not bad) and then I came to see Looby. We chatted with two of his three daughters and they were lovely and so friendly. I got bonus marks for correctly identifying all three of them on a picture of them aged four. What can I say? I'm good with faces and names.
In the end, we were quite late getting out to the party but that worked out well because it was in full flow. We had a couple of drinks and had a bit of speed (I never took drugs before Looby's New Year Party but since having cancer I don't really care as much) and then we did quite a lot of dancing. Things that happened next were:
- A scary lesbian gave me lots of wine, tried to pull me, and told me she "wouldn't be my experiment" - er, I'm not, love.
- Everyone went down to the next pub til 1am.
We bumped into Richard in the next pub and he went on and on (again) about his late wife YAWN. I have much compassion (I mean, I lost my mum and I've had cancer myself) but it was FOUR YEARS AGO and I just don't want it to be the only thing we ever talk about, do you know what I mean? So yes, not particularly happy with that, to be honest. He is a kind man at heart though, and he understood my "too empathetic" thing that I have going on. Shame he didn't stop making me sad.
At about 1.30am (no lie) Looby and I headed back to Kirsty's where I took my nightly meds (I have Bipolar Disorder so I can't sleep without medication) and we drank a lot of water.
I can't sleep currently. Looby had started a blog but I thought I'd have a go, hence this shitty attempt. I should borrow this for my own blog really. It'd be better than the normal shit I publish.
Hmm. It's 3am. 3 a fucking m. This is not good. I hope I'm something approaching half awake for my daughter's party tomorrow. Doh.
I haven't had sex for 11 days. I'm not coping well. I just thought I'd share that with you ha ha.
Good night.
So here we are, sat on the sofa (she's just told me to say "sitting") and that's the first guest blogpost ever. It's fucking lovely to be with her but she can see me writing this so we mustn't overdo the compliments.
